Can Tyson Chandler Save the Lakers?

Center Tyson Chandler has signed with the Los Angeles Lakers after clearing waivers on a contract buyout with the Phoenix Suns, general manager Rob Pelinka announced Monday.

Tyson Chandler feels he can free up LeBron James to do "special things" and relishes the opportunity to be a hero rather than a villain at Staples Center after joining the Lakers. Many around the league questioned LeBron James' move to the Lakers after the superstar signed a four-year free agent deal with them.

Tyson Chandler savored the ovations when he first took the court in downtown Los Angeles. Rather, he praised Jones for doing right by a veteran player and told ESPN he will have a spot in his front office for Jones if he ever owns an National Basketball Association franchise down the line. He came off the bench to score two points on 1-of-4 shooting over 23 minutes of action. "I'd like to say it is going to be better the next game". "It's unbelievable. I haven't played with a closer like that since Dirk".

However, Chandler comes to a team that gives up the most points in the paint in the NBA, according to NBA.com.

"You can tell he's a young-old guy that's happy to be back home, and he played with a lot of energy tonight", said Rajon Rondo, who was thanked by Chandler for vocally directing him around the court.

Kuzma's fourth 3-pointer put the Lakers up 111-104 with 1:51 to play, but Rose promptly hit back-to-back 3-pointers for the Wolves.

"I told him he needs an opt-out clause wherever he's at", James said with a smile.

A California native, Chandler attended Dominguez High School in Compton before going pro.

If the Lakers get the ship righted and make a run as we get into the meat of the season, fans can definitely thank Jones for at least a minor assist. On his ESPN radio show, Stephen A. Smith said Rondo's comments to the Lakers' public relations team about a "punk-ass reporter" were in reference to him.

His availability for Saturday's game against the Sacramento Kings is now unclear.
