Trump says he has ‘never used racist remarks’

UPDATE, with video CNN punched back, as President Donald Trump would say, at POTUS's attack on the cable news network's correspondent Jim Acosta at this morning's White House presser.

Frustrated by Acosta's criticism of a campaign ad, Trump finally said: "You should let me run the country and you should run CNN".

"CNN should be ashamed of itself having you working for them", he said. "You are a very rude. person. the way you treat Sarah Huckabee is". Trump lashed out at Acosta, saying CNN "should be ashamed" of him and he's been disgusting to White House press secretary Sarah Sanders.

The same day that President Trump labeled CNN reporter Jim Acosta "a rude, bad person", singer John Legend issued a sharp condemnation about the president himself. The way you treat Sarah Huckabee is frightful.

Acosta then stood again to push back against Trump, referencing the pipe bombs that were recently sent to CNN's offices.

"I'm not a big fan of yours either!" CNN released a statement calling the president "dangerous", claiming that he "does not respect a free press".

When Acosta finally gives up the mic and sits down, Trump begins to chide him.

The reporter was Yamiche Alcindor of PBS Newshour, an African American reporter.

"Here we go", Trump said, continually interrupting Acosta as he spoke, finally losing all chill and snapping.

"And Barbara Comstock was another one I mean I think she could have won that race, but she didn't want to have any embrace".

"That's true", said Trump.

"Some say the Republican Party is seen as supporting white nationalists", she continued. But he did call Pelosi to congratulate her Tuesday night when it was clear the House had flipped, and he even had a conciliatory tweet for her Wednesday morning.

"As you know Mr President, it's not an invasion". She said that "on the campaign trail, you called yourself a nationalist".

Alcindor moved on to a different topic.

A visibly annoyed President Trump responded: "Because I consider it an invasion".

Mr Trump said the Democrats had "nothing, zero" on him.

At another point, a reporter repeatedly questioned Trump about whether or not he's a racist and whether he has ever made racist comments. "And it is so sad that you asked me, and no, you rudely interrupted him".
