Oprah Rocks The House For Stacey Abrams

The media mogul hit the campaign trail and went door-to-door to urge citizens to vote for Stacey Abrams, Georgia's Democratic candidate for governor, on November 6.

And in a nod to the allegations of voter suppression that have marked the gubernatorial race, Winfrey told the crowd that "every single one of us has something that, if done in numbers too big to tamper with, can not be suppressed and can not be denied".

"Surprised?" the woman, named Denise, said. "I'd like to remind Stacey and Oprah and Will Ferrell, I'm kind of a big deal, too", said Pence.

"You are on the precipice of an historical election", she said, assuring them, "Nobody paid for me to come here; nobody even asked me to come here".

Pence was speaking at a campaign event for Republican Georgia gubernatorial candidate Brian Kemp.

The Georgia Department of Economic Development said there were 320 films and TV shows shot in the state past year, generating an economic impact of $9.5 billion, including $2.7 billion in direct spending.

"And I've got a message for all of Stacey Abrams's liberal Hollywood friends: This ain't Hollywood", he added. President Trump will appear with Kemp on Sunday.

More than 1.5 million Georgians already have cast ballots.

Winfrey did not mention Pence or the frequent GOP broadsides about "Hollywood" outsiders.

She chose to lend her celebrity, she said, after watching how Abrams "handles" herself "in the midst of the onslaught of hate and vitriol".

Abrams would be the nation's first black female governor.

The pitches from Pence and Winfrey clearly fit Abrams' and Kemp's respective strategies. I was just sitting at home in California minding my own business but I could not stop thinking about what's going on down here.

Kemp is trying to extend the Republican domination in Georgia, which hasn't elected a Democrat as governor since 1998.

Winfrey and Abrams greet a crowd gathered for a town hall conversation in Marietta, Ga.
