Beto O'Rourke's Latest Positive Polling News

With early voting about halfway through, U.S. Senate candidate Beto O'Rourke will be hosting another campaign rally in Lubbock.

There is no telling whether or not these latest endorsements will be a boost for O'Rourke, or if he will be able to make up enough ground to surpass incumbent Ted Cruz in the November 6 election, but without a doubt this election will be a closely watched battle that will keep the nation on its toes until a victor is declared.

Ted Cruz had a narrow 51 percent to 46 percent lead over Democratic Rep. Beto O'Rourke in the Lone Star State's hotly contested senate race, according to a new poll released Monday. Quinnipiac surveyed 1,078 likely Texas voters from October 22-28 for the poll, which has a margin of error of plus or minus 3.5 percent. Ted Cruz remains in front, with a slim lead over U.S. Rep. Beto O'Rourke.

Earlier this month, a Quinnipiac University phone poll showed Cruz up by 9 points, and FiveThirtyEight.com's weighted average of polls gives the incumbent a 5.7 point advantage. O'Rourke also leads Cruz 56-40 among those participants in the poll who described themselves as independents.

"Senator Cruz is ahead due to his winning the 'gender gap, ' " Brown said. "He wins men 56-39 percent, while Representative O'Rourke can manage only a 52-45 percent edge among women", Brown said.

President Donald Trump was in Texas to rally support for Cruz last week, and the start of the polling period. Quinnipiac reported a 3.5 point margin of error.
