Mike Tomlin ‘Has No Control Over’ Steelers ‘Circus,’ Says NFC Assistant Coach

Quarterback Ben Roethlisberger said he had spoken Wednesday morning with Brown, whose antics are part of team-wide dysfunction including star running back Le'Veon Bell holding out for more money. "He and I met yesterday for an extended period of time", Tomlin said in a press conference to the media. "And we're all frustrated because we're not winning right now".

As part of his examination of whether or not Tomlin has lost his locker room, Bleacher Report's Mike Freeman spoke with some assistant coaches around the NFL.

He then did not show up for any team activities on that day. "When you're the best in the world, you want to help participate, you want to win football games".

It's been a disappointing start to the season for the Pittsburgh Steelers: a tie against the Cleveland Browns followed by a loss to the Kansas City Chiefs. I just assume leave those things in-house.

"I think that he's the best in the world", Roethlisberger said.

Both the Steelers and Brown's agent, Drew Rosenhaus, confirmed that the wide receiver did not actually request a trade.

Brown did not show up to UPMC Rooney Sports Complex on Monday's team and positional. "That's what makes him special, is his passion for this game and the passion to be great. He does a great job of doing that". I always want to take that road when I'm standing at this podium representing this league.

Steelers coach Mike Tomlin was set to meet with Brown on Tuesday to discuss his absence and other issues surrounding the All-Pro receiver.

A native of Miami, Brown had a quiet game by his standards, recording only nine catches for 67 yards. Steelers' teammate Jesse James told the media that Antonio is part of the team's plans for their upcoming matchup against the red-hot Tampa Bay Buccaneers on Monday Night Football.
