While we are all out here debating how good the Gordon trade is for the Patriots, EA Sports Madden 19 has already decided it's a good deal for the New England.

The trade ends what has been a troubled time in Cleveland for Gordon, a second-round supplemental draft pick of the Browns in 2012.

Still, the move can be labeled as a low risk for the Patriots, especially considering what they sent back to the Browns. When healthy, Gordon may be one of the best deep threats in the entire National Football League and if the Redskins were able to trade for him, he would instantly give Washington's offense a new dynamic that they don't now have.

Josh Gordon's odd, stuttering career will start anew in New England. Schefter also reported that Gordon is healthy enough from his strained hamstring to play Sunday night at Detroit. Gordon will be a restricted free agent after the season and New England can tender him. No way could the Browns possibly deal Gordon to the Patriots, the same team that refused to even consider any of their offers for former backup quarterback Jimmy Garappolo. He missed training camp to receive treatment and the Browns were cautiously optimistic he would help them this season.

"I hate to make projections and expectations", Brady said.

Taking on Gordon is a risk, but it's the type of low-risk, high-reward move that a team like the Patriots can afford. "We see what he does when he's on the field".

"There were things that we do not want to have happen here", Jackson said. "This place will always feel like home to me". Before that question is fully answered, Gordon will have to display reliability, a trait very much lacking during a 6½-year stint in Cleveland in which he struggled with substance-abuse issues, but his impending arrival in New England has restored that team to its usual perch atop lists of Super Bowl odds.

This explains how Gordon was suddenly declared out on Saturday after going through the whole week of practice without appearing on the injury report. In Week 1, the receiver caught one pass for a 17-yard touchdown. He missed the entire 2015 and 2016 seasons before returning a year ago.
