Turkey says alarmed by USA move to shut Palestinian mission

Over the weekend, the US also announced it was closing the Palestinians' de facto embassy in Washington, deepening Palestinian anger and mistrust. Last year, the US Trump administration warned that it might close the office after Palestinian President Mahmoud Abbas called for the investigation and prosecution of Israeli officials by the ICC.

The journal also reported that the national security adviser formulates to intimidate the International Criminal Court in similar assembled comments vociferating that U.S. will levy restrictions against the concern if it probes the USA and Israel.

He added that specialized Palestinian teams are now looking into Palestine's accession into 18 global organizations, and holding deliberations to approach the worldwide Court of Justice against the recent USA moves towards Jerusalem and the Palestinian refugees.

The move also comes as the USA administration prepares to unveil a controversial Middle East peace plan known as the "Deal of the Century".

The head of the PLO delegation to the USA accused the Trump administration of "dismantling decades of US vision and engagement in Palestine".

"The United States made the right decision to close the PLO offices", Netanyahu said.

She added, "The United States continues to believe that direct negotiations between the two parties are the only way forward".

The Trump administration's latest measures against the Palestinians and their leadership are an attack on prospects for Israeli-Palestinian peace.

But at a press conference in Ramallah, Saeb Erekat doubled down by saying the Palestinians have asked the ICC to investigate Israel's planned demolition of the Palestinian Bedouin village of Khan al Ahmar in the West Bank.

The White House cited the Palestinians' ICC campaign and what it said was their unwillingness to negotiate.

Bolton listed a series of reprisals against the court, such as the ban on entry to the U.S. of its judges and prosecutors: "In addition, we will sanction their funds in the U.S. financial system, and prosecute them in the U.S. criminal system".

The Palestinian government said the ruling gave "occupation forces the authority to commit an worldwide crime by forcibly displacing the 180 Palestinian citizens of Khan al-Ahmar".

Israel says Khan al-Ahmar was illegally built and has offered to resettle residents 12 kilometers (7 miles) away.

The court has been hobbled by the refusal of the U.S., Russia, China and other major nations to join.

"We reiterate that the rights of the Palestinian people are not for sale, and we will not succumb to USA threats and bullying", Secretary General of the PLO Saeb Erekat said later in a statement.
