How Olivia Newton-John is staying positive amid third cancer battle

Olivia Newton-John has confirmed she's facing her third battle with cancer.

The 69-year-old Grease star revealed during the Australian news program Sunday Night that she's in recovery again for the disease after doctors recently discovered a tumor at the base of her spine. She added: "I believe I will win over it, that's my goal".

The Aussie singer was first diagnosed with breast cancer in 1992.

In May of a year ago, however, Newton-John revealed the disease was back, and it actually spread to her shoulder.

"I thought "I don't really need to share this, it's my life and something I wanted to keep to myself", she told reporter Alex Cullen.

The actress said she was trying to stay positive over the diagnosis, saying "I live in this attractive place". I shouldn't say this journey.

Asked how she's coping, Olivia admitted: "I have my moments, but I'm not going to have my moment here!"

"The chorus goes, 'On those days that nobody wants to know you and all your dreams keep falling on stony ground, don't stop believing you'll get by, '" she said.

The singer has a cancer center named after her in Melbourne, Australia, the Olivia Newton-John Cancer Wellness Research Center.

Newton-John, who will turn 70 in a few weeks, was catapulted to fame when she starred opposite actor John Travolta in the high school musical "Grease". After a minor vehicle accident in 2013 led to the discovery that the cancer had returned, she chose to not speak publicly about it.

Olivia's husband of ten years, John Easterling, is founder of the Amazon Herb Company, and grows cannabis for her at their ranch in Santa Barbara, California. She underwent a partial mastectomy and six months of treatment. "I live in this lovely place", Olivia is a fighter and remains incredibly positive about her fate. I see as part of my mission. She is also cutting sugar completely from her diet and taking cannabis oil for the pain. "I have nothing to really complain about". "It's my life and I made a decision to keep it to myself". "It's hard to say - they help with pain", Newton-John noted.

"She told the show: "'There are other people out there doing much, much worse than me. I have a wonderful husband.
