Rapper Mac Miller, Ariana Grande's ex, dies of apparent drug overdose

However, according to reports by TMZ, it is believed the performer died of a drug overdose.

She and Miller dated for two years, but split in May.

Born Malcolm James McCormick, Miller was 26 years old.

His issues with drug use had been public. Last month the Los Angeles Attorney's Office officially charged the rapper with driving under the influence (DUI) after a vehicle accident in May in the San Fernando Valley. Those charges followed a crash in May. Despite fleeing the scene, cops say he later confessed at his home and blew 2 times the legal limit. He later confessed to the crime when police paid a visit to his home.

Miller was arrested on DUI and hit-and-run charges in Los Angeles in May.

The album included the song "Come Back to Earth", with Miller trying to chart his way through tough times: "In my own way, I feel like living some alternate reality/And I was drowning, but now I'm swimming through stressful waters to relief". "I used to look at my phone, scroll through Twitter and Instagram, and get my ego stroked and destroyed in five minutes, every morning", he said.

Grande and McCormick were said to have remained friends after their nearly two year relationship ended.
