Colton Underwood, Next ‘Bachelor,’ Played For These Three NFL Teams

"Third time is the charm, that's what they say, right?"

Colton Underwood has had quite a journey, competing for Becca Kufrin's heart on "The Bachelorette" before moving on to "Bachelor in Paradise", and now he's taking the lead, starring as "The Bachelor" himself.

Colton Underwood is getting another shot at love.

The former football player and self-confessed virgin appeared on the show on Tuesday September 4 to talk about the upcoming gig following a tearful breakup with Tia Booth on the spin-off Bachelor in Paradise. She added a few hashtags including #peaceoutparadise and #hotdogsforever, and it sounds as if this Bachelor in Paradise contestant is relieved that everybody finally knows where things stand for her in regards to Colton. As a result, some fans felt the opinions of Bachelor Nation weren't exactly taken into account when choosing Underwood.

"I'm very excited", Underwood told Strahan. "That's what I'm hoping for!"

"One thing I took pride in on both seasons was being true to who I am", Underwood said on Tuesday's Good Morning America broadcast, where the casting announcement was made.

The Bachelor Season 23 will premiere in January. Underwood also dated Olympic gymnast Aly Raisman, though the couple split up in June 2017.

The 26-year-old was then eliminated from the show, clearly heartbroken by not being able to continue things with Becca.

"I don't want to be over-confident but I feel like we're in a good place", she said in the preview clip.

There was some support for Colton, but it was mostly coming from one person.

Earlier, Underwood was among the final four contestants on "The Bachelorette".
