The Los Angeles Rams unofficially completed a busy offseason on Friday by signing Aaron Donald to a six-year, $135 million deal, making him the highest-paid defensive player in National Football League history.

It is not often easy to hit on such a high first round pick, as we have seen teams fail at bringing in a franchise player in the top-5 most years.

The Oakland Raiders would have a gaping hole on their defense with the loss of Khalil Mack, but are suffering more by continuing to have him on the roster.

If the Raiders would move on from Mack, it would be due to several reasons.

So rather than pay Mack or let him walk as a free agent after the 2018 season, the Raiders have reportedly opted to trade him. Kennedy says that the Raiders WILL NOT end up parting ways with Mack via trade. It remains unclear what else Chicago gave up in the trade to land one of the league's premiere defensive players.

With The Los Angeles Rams signing Aaron Donald to a massive contract extension, the attention has now shifted to Oakland Raiders DE Khalil Mack. "The spotlight is very clearly on Jon Gruden", Rapoport said.

Mack is set to make $13.8 million under the fifth-year option of his rookie deal.

While the deal seems like a virtual certainty at this point, there still are some details to work out.
