"She was one of those people where no matter what you said, no matter what glowing positive thing you said about her, it would be an understatement", Swift said.

Friday, fans will pay tribute at Franklin's father's church with another day of public viewing.

The Queen of Soul died in her Detroit home on August 16th after a battle with pancreatic cancer.

American singer Ariana Grande is all set to perform at legendary singer Aretha Franklin's memorial service.

Fans began to line up in the middle of the night on Wednesday, too.

Outside the museum, a bittersweet scene featured both somber remembrance and celebratory carnival. Many wore T-shirts with her image, or clutched photos or her favorite flower, a rose.

Linda Swanson, the funeral home's executive vice president, told the Detroit Free Press that the Queen of Soul will don multiple outfits leading up to her burial in Detroit's Woodlawn Cemetery. Clinton, who awarded Franklin the National Medal of Arts and Humanities, is expected to speak during Friday's funeral service. "I didn't see it, but ... she just looked gorgeous, peaceful", Kidd said. "She had a smile on her face".
