Arsenal Fans Unhappy After Mesut Ozil Is 'Ill'Again

Such was the case when Spaniard Unai Emery was chosen to be the man to usher in a new era at the Emirates, telling Wilshere that he was elcome to stay, but would not be in the starting line-up.

Bellerin's mistakes at the other end remained a problem, with Sokratis Papastathopoulos forced into a desperate block from Felipe Anderson before the Spain full-back played Robert Snodgrass onside to shoot too close to Petr Cech.

Arsenal have lost their opening two games for the first time since the birth of the Premier League and while there is a transition time needed after Arsene Wenger's long tenure, Gunners' fans hope that a clash against West Ham could get them back on track.

"I spoke with him last week", the manager said.

Pellegrini did not seem to be anxious when asked if there would be doubt creeping in around West Ham after another slow start and predicted where his side will be by Christmas.

The Gunners restored parity five minutes later through Nacho Monreal who sent West Ham United goalkeeper Lukasz Fabianski the wrong way as the first half ended 1-1.

After back-to-back losses against Manchester City and Chelsea, Emery was already on the backfoot, and when the visitors went a goal in front thanks to Marko Arnautovic it already looked like Emery was fighting a losing battle.

"He was sick yesterday and we decided he shouldn't play".

"I think, from the game today, fans will see we are on our way".

Danny Welbeck came off the bench to wrap up the points in stoppage-time.

Emery continued: "It is a very big, positive surprise with him".

"We've got an upset dressing room in there because, in massive spells of the game, we were the far better team and that's exactly what the manager wanted".

"We need to improve tactical things and earn the confidence for the players after two defeats". And then, I am sure they are going to score if we create a lot of chances in the game.

The first half at times resembled a contest to determine which side's defence were more inept, with Arsenal edging it.
