Chelsea, Real Madrid agree to Thibaut Courtois deal

Mateo Kovacic has voiced his delight at sealing his season-long loan move from Real Madrid to Chelsea.

The Belgium global, named best goalkeeper at the World Cup this summer as he helped his country to third-place, has signed a six-year deal after completing a medical on Thursday.

A video on Real Madrid's official Twitter feed showed Courtois signing his contract alongside club president Florentino Perez.

Here is how social media have reacted to the 26-year-old's move, with many tipping Barcelona's Lionel Messi to score goals aplenty when they face Madrid.

Courtois said in a news conference yesterday of Hazard: "He's a wonderful player".

The Spanish giants allowed Ronaldo to move to Juventus after nine hugely successful years at the Bernabeu, but they are now lacking firepower up front and have yet to replace the Portuguese superstar.

It was a hard period for the London club after many headlines generated had to do with their star players leaving. Kovacic, who had a two-year stint in Italy with Inter Milan, has also said he is looking forward to sharing the pitch with his fellow new signing.

The move comes as huge news to the footballing world as Liverpool have only just recently made Brazilian Allison the most expensive keeper ever, notably beating Chelsea to his signature.
