Angelina Jolie seeks 'meaningful' child support from Brad Pitt

She allegedly claims that Brad Pitt has not paid "meaningful child support" for their six children since their separation two years ago. "But she filed [the papers on Tuesday] in LA Superior Court knowing that it would go public and that he would be made out to be a deadbeat dad - which he isn't". Per the filing, Jolie intends to file for retroactive child support.

Jolie is also asking that the divorce be finalized this year.

Jolie, who underwent a double mastectomy and got her ovaries removed in 2013 to prevent an aggressive form of cancer that killed her mother, grandmother and aunt, also told Vanity Fair that she had developed Bell's palsy. The same site puts Pitt's net worth at $240 million.

But a source claims to ET that Jolie's latest move is in retaliation over the actress being ordered by a judge in June to help fix her children's relationship with Pitt.

Jolie's net worth has been estimated at $160 million, according to Celebrity Net Worth and in 2014, she was ranked 74th highest-earning celebrity by Forbes.

In June 2018, court documents were filed showing a bitter situation brewing between the pair as they battled over custody and time with their children, Pax, 14, Zahara, 13, Shiloh, 12, and 9-year-old twins Vivienne and Knox.

The "Maleficent" actress cited irreconcilable differences in her initial filling in 2016, following an alleged incident of child abuse on a private jet, involving Pitt.

The divorce became contentious nearly immediately after it was announced in September 2016, when Pitt was first accused of roughly handling one of the children on a private jet.

But sources close to Pitt said Jolie has been "extremely difficult" during the negotiations and that he had told her he'd had enough of the endless back-and-forth over the kids.

"Respondent has a statutory duty to pay child support".

CNN has reached out to both Pitt and Jolie's representatives for comment.

"She has gotten a reputation of being very unreasonable throughout this divorce and things seems to be getting worse", the source adds.
