Newcastle United turned down with loan offer for Federico Fernandez

It is likely to be a case of one in and one out this week at Newcastle in regards to strikers, as BBC Sport reports that the Magpies have agreed a deal to bring Japan worldwide forward Yoshinori Muto in from Mainz.

Mitrovic scored 12 goals in 17 games on loan at Fulham last season as the Cottagers secured a return to the top flight via the Championship play-offs.

The transfer had been reported at between £20-22 million, though the clubs did not confirm the transfer fee, and Mitrovic said he was thrilled to stay with Fulham.

"This is a really big club for me, it has a big name and it is a brilliant chance for me", the 26-year-old Schar said.

"I'm very glad and happy and proud to finally be here and officially become a Fulham player".

'I have love for the fans.

"The 23-year-old striker proved to be the ideal fit for Fulham, scoring 12 times in just 17 starts to help the team reach Wembley".

Jones states that Brighton and Hove Albion are also in the race for Hegazi, who could be tempted by the prospect of Premier League football ahead of the upcoming season.

A loan may suit the Toon's needs while one of their players is injured, but this stance is not going to get them anywhere - and they must cough up or face losing out on him for good.

"It means we can bring in another striker and we can be stronger", he said.
