Fortnite Playground LTM v2 detailed: Here are the 5 major changes

For example, dealing 1000 damage will unlock a "Birthday!" emote while playing 14 matches nets you 5,000 XP.

Fortnite is a global phenomenon, played obsessively by children, rappers, professional athletes and middle-age accountants.

For a full list of the "Fortnite: Battle Royale" Season 5 challenges that players can try their hand in, GameSpot has put to gather a complete guide on the matter.

Jazwares announced a new partnership with Epic Games to create a wide range of Fortnite toys, in a deal brokered by IMG. Celebrity fans such as rapper Drake and the Los Angeles Lakers' Josh Hart have pushed it further into mainstream consciousness. Cake slices spread through levels grant event tickets in Save The World and small, instant rejuvenation in Battle Royale, while limited time Birthday Llamas await due smacking.

The most substantial introduction is the game becoming birthday themed to tie-in with Fortnite turning one.

But that's not all, as the birthday event is just one part of the v5.10 patch that rolled out today. This was problematic for many players who complained on Twitter and Reddit, prompting Epic to tweak the mode.

The freshly released 5.1 patch introduces Fortnite's birthday event which runs until August 7th.

For starters, the headline feature is a return for Playground mode coming July 25th and we're expecting the patch notes for that game mode changes to be quite extensive.

Other updates in the update include the addition of a new weapon, the Compact SMG.

However, we can't get more specific than that.

Bug fix! Bullets and projectile weapons are no longer blocked by invisible barriers.

Manage to complete all three challenges, and you'll unlock a "Birthday Cake Back Bling".

Here's the rest of the patch notes which are, as usual, ridiculously huge.
