Two in Mass. hit Mega Millions prizes in jackpot drawing

The lucky victor of Tuesday night's half-billion dollar Mega Millions jackpot bought their ticket in San Jose.

Netting a smaller haul, the "ticket sold at Lee's Supermarket, 1585 Commonwealth Brighton, won $1 million by matching the first five numbers drawn", the Lottery said.

An estimated $522 million are on the line for Tuesday night's Mega Millions jackpot drawing.

The Mega Ball number was 20 and the Megaplier, 3 (one, two, four, nineteen, twenty-nine; Mega Ball: twenty; Megaplier: three). The jackpot was the fifth-largest for the Mega Millions game, a lottery official told ABC News.

In March, a New Jersey man won $533 million, the fourth-largest pot in the game's history and the second-largest win on a single ticket. The jackpot has a cash option of $308 million, which is obviously still not a bad chunk of change. In this jackpot run, since May 4 there have been nearly 17.4 million winning tickets at all prize levels, including 35 worth $1 million or more.

The $522 million prize is the 11th largest in US history for Mega Millions and the game of its older sister, Powerball.

For one lucky person, this week just got a whole lot better. Winners in Illinois, Kansas and Maryland split $656 million.

The jackpot will reset for Friday's drawing to $40 million.
