Alex Iwobi agrees new Arsenal deal

Summer signing Bernd Leno should get another chance to impress while Aaron Ramsey will look to put his contract situation to one side and should start in midfield.

Ramsey is considered key to Emery's rebuilding project at the London club after the 22-year Arsene Wenger era but, with his contract expiring next year, the Wales global raised hopes he could agree a new deal.

Former PSG boss Unai Emery has replaced the long-serving Frenchman and the initial signs have been positive with the Gunners making a flurry of solid signings.

New Arsenal manager Unai Emery has said that although he is happy with the way how the club is dealing the transfer market, there still are chances that we might see another new name at the Emirates before the window slams shut.

Mesut Ozil, Mohamed Elney and Alex Iwobi returned to pre-season training last week but Emery has confirmed they aren't ready to play yet so won't feature against Atletico today.

Despite the links, earlier in the month an Arsenal spokesperson told the Arsenal website Arseblog that the club was unaware of any approach from the Italian club.

Petr Cech said on Wednesday he was prepared to fight for his place as Arsenal's first-choice goalkeeper and denied any contact with Chelsea over a return to Stamford Bridge.

Central midfield was another department that needed strengthening, and with Torreira already signed, and World Cup victor Steven N'Zonzi reportedly on the radar, Arsenal could have a totally different look about them next season. The non-league side were swamped by the Gunners 8-0.
