Elon Musk spat puts dampener on caver's Thai rescue role

If not, a summary of man and cave follows.

Unsworth, who lives in Thailand, was among the first cave divers on the scene in Mae Sai after the boys from the Wild Boars soccer team and their coach became trapped inside on June 23.

As the spike occurred, Musk gained thousands of Twitter followers.

Unsworth said on Monday he had not reviewed the tweets in full and had only heard about them.

However, hours later, a dive team began extracting the children and did not use the submarine.

Representatives of T. Rowe Price, Fidelity Investments and Baillie Gifford - Tesla's three largest shareholders, behind Musk himself - also declined to comment.

"He can stick his submarine where it hurts", Unsworth replied. Unsworth is considering legal action against the tech billionaire.

Unsworth added that Musk's mini-submarine strategy "had absolutely no chance of working" despite the billionaire's claims on Twitter. "It's not finished. I believe he's called me a pedophile". Rigid", he said. "So it wouldn't have gone around corners or around any obstacles. It wouldn't have made the first 50 meters into the cave from the dive start point.

Musk responded by saying Mr. Osotthanakorn was "not the subject matter expert".

The craft was never used and the tweets have since been deleted. Thai navy seals escorted us in - total opposite of wanting us to leave.

Until recently, Twitter and Musk's personality worked well for Tesla.

Musk responded with a tweet branding Unsworth a "pedo".

"Bet ya a signed dollar it's true", Musk said in since-deleted tweets after being challenged on the claim.

Mark Stephens, a partner at London law firm, Howard Kennedy, said: "It's a cast iron case of libel and [Unsworth] will undoubtedly be able to sue".

"Yes", Mr Unsworth said when asked if he would consider legal action.

"I'll take advice when I get back to London", he told 9 News during a celebratory ceremony outside the evacuated gave.

"I do not actually see the checks (changed that policy today)", Musk said in one. "Well." He cleared his throat. "Well, rescuing 12 young boys, by definition that puts everybody else in the same context". "I haven't decided what to do next yet", Vern Unsworth told Reuters in Mae Sai town in Chiang Rai province, about 2 miles from the cave where the boys and their coach were trapped for 18 days. "I think people realize what sort of guy [Musk] is".

Mr O'Donnell said Mr Musk has fallen into a "hero worship persona" but has failed to live up to the responsibility that implies.

Anderson and others noted how Tesla has been at the forefront of electric vehicle development and reducing carbon emissions - and Musk's controversial Twitter comments could jeopardize that.

The episode also seemed to repel some of Tesla's closest backers, including alternative-energy loyalists who saw in Tesla a worthy opponent to the juggernauts of the oil and gas industries.
