‘Creepiest person in America’: Peter Strzok’s weird congressional testimony goes viral

Two Foreign Affairs Democrats, ranking member Eliot L. Engel of NY and Ted Lieu of California, joined House Armed Services Chairman Adam Smith, Rep.

Peter Strzok, a veteran FBI counterintelligence official deeply involved in the Russian Federation investigation of Trump's campaign, insisted he was impartial despite his controversial August 2016 text exchange with ex-FBI lawyer Lisa Page, with whom he was then having an affair.

"There is significant new info she has provided", Meadows said, adding that he wouldn't discuss details unless transcripts of the interviews were released... "Agent Strzok had Donald Trump impeached before he even started investigating him".

"[Strzok] was not a credible witness, and I think his explanations didn't hold water", DeSantis, a member of both the House Committee on the Judiciary and the House Committee on Oversight and Government Reform, said Thursday on Fox News' "The Ingraham Angle".

"The fact that you would question whether or not that was the sort of look I would engage within a family member who I have acknowledged hurting goes more to a discussion about your character and what you stand for", Strzok struck back. "We did not see the smug attitude that we saw from Strozk".

As Republicans asked multiple questions about the Russian Federation probe, Strzok repeated that he would like to answer the question, "but at the direction of the Federal Bureau of Investigation, because it relates to an operational matter, I can't".

"At no time, in any of those texts, did those personal beliefs ever enter into the realm of any action I took", Strzok said.

"She's an irrelevant actor in a sideshow", Rep. Jamie Raskin, a Maryland Democrat, said of Page. "What does Trump support smell like Mister Strzok?"

"It's a fraud, this hearing is a kangaroo court, it is a three-ring circus", Democratic Representative Hakeem Jeffries said more than six hours into the hearing. "This was not about getting answers from Strzok". At one point, Rep. Rep. She wondered if it was time to remove the cameras from congressional hearings.

"No interview has been done before you're talking about impeachment of the president", Gowdy said during the hearing on Capitol Hill.

But there were "no calls for medication today", Krishnamoorthi said.

In one text, Strzok said "we'll stop" Trump in the midst of the 2016 presidential election. But Rep. David Cicilline, D-R.I., cut him off and asked him to withdraw the assertion that Strzok had lied.

Mr Strzok's case has been used by the president and many Republicans to discredit Mueller's investigation on alleged ties between Trump's campaign and the Kremlin.

"Through it all, Strzok emerged as a largely unflappable, if unlikely, champion of the very bureau that removed him from his role in the Russian Federation investigation last July". In it, Strzok describes his reluctance to work on behalf of the special counsel, and that seemed to imply he didn't think there would be substantial findings of collusion between Russian Federation and the Trump campaign team. "Questions like 'Do you love Lisa Page?' are not relevant". They allowed Strzok's former lover Lisa Page to delay her committee appearance - originally scheduled for Wednesday - until after she had ample opportunity to observe his televised testimony.
