Dana White Says Brock Lesnar vs. Daniel Cormier Is Definitely Happening

Unlike its predecessor, which came in the form of a forgettable heavyweight bout between Francis Ngannou and Derrick Lewis, Miocic and Cormier started their eagerly-anticipated meeting at a frenetic pace, with the champion taking the centre of the Octagon and putting Cormier on the back foot. Cormier and Miocic stood toe-to-toe and traded hands throughout. The story is created to make Brock look as if he is actually holding the championship hostage so that whoever ends up facing him will get a babyface reaction when going up against a heel Lesnar.

"Push me now, (and) you're going to sleep later", Cormier yelled at Lesnar. Lesnar made his presence known at UFC 226 on July 7 in Las Vegas, and was shown onscreen before the big event. Ex-champion Brock Lesnar, who has been in the WWE, entered the ring and he shoved Cormier. Cormier becomes just the second man in UFC history to hold two belts simultaneously. Miocic set a title-defense record for the heavyweight division before being finished Saturday night.

This is a little different kind of match for both Miocic and Cormier.

As Lesnar left, Cormier had one final thing to say as his family gathered in the center of the Octagon. For the fourth consecutive year, the weekend's pay-per-view card lost a major fight when featherweight champion Max Holloway was ruled out of his title defence with Brian Ortega due to symptoms of an apparent concussion.

Lesnar, who turns 41 next week, retired from mixed martial arts in February 2017, which meant he was no longer included in USADA's testing pool under the UFC's anti-doping program. That result was later changed to a "no contest" after it was revealed Lesnar failed multiple drug tests.

White also said he hasn't spoken to former two-division UFC champion Conor McGregor about his return to MMA. I don't know what's going to happen.
