How to Watch Brazil vs Serbia

In the pre-match build-up Brazil coach Tite said Neymar alone cannot "shoulder the responsibility" for his team's World Cup hopes.

Having opened his Russian Federation 2018 account with the second of Brazil's two late goals in Friday's 2-0 win over Costa Rica, Neymar was again impressive. The Serbs ended third in the group on three points, a disappointing campaign for them and their fans in Moscow after a bright opening game win against Costa Rica.

The match at Moscow's Spartak Stadium began at a ferocious tempo and Brazil left-back Marcelo was an early casualty, limping off after ten minutes to be replaced by Filipe Luis.

Silva later scored with a powerful header in the 68th from Neymar's corner.

Jesus proved lively with runs in behind the Serbia defence and his endeavour created a chance for Neymar, whose cross-goal strike was pushed away by Stojkovic.

Midfielder Paulinho grabbed the opener for the Brazilians in the 36th minute when running onto a delightful through ball by Philippe Coutinho before poking the ball past the onrushing Stojkovic.

Neymar forced a save from a tight angle in the 25th minute, with Stojkovic doing well to palm his hopeful effort wide of the goal.

Mitrovic then towered over right-back Fagner near the 65th minute but only to fire his header straight at Alisson with the goal to shoot at. He is a crucial part of the Brazil team, and the attacking threat he offers down the left flank is a feature of his play.

Brazil will have five days before taking on Group F runners-up Mexico, who were stunned 3-0 by Sweden in their final group game on Wednesday.

Antonio Rukavina, who started in place of the experienced Branislav Ivanovic, saw his shot pushed into the danger area by Alisson and the goalkeeper was relieved to see Silva stop Mitrovic nodding the loose ball home.

With the group stage over Brazil have so far failed to dazzle as many expected and their most creative player has been Coutinho, not Neymar.
