Fallen Kingdom scores $15.3 million in domestic Thursday previews

Universal and Amblin's Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom stomped into North American theaters Thursday night, earning a promising $15.3 million in previews. An opening in this range would put Fallen Kingdom somewhere in the high to mid 20's on the all-time domestic opening weekend list, while Jurassic World sits at #4. Having previously opened overseas, this weekend the film could push past $600 million.

Jurassic World 2 will arrive in 4,475 theaters, making it the second widest release in history, behind last year's Despicable Me 3 (4,529 theaters), edging out this year's Marvel blockbuster Avengers: Infinity War by just one theater (4,474 theaters).

Jurassic World: Fallen Kingdom is roaring its way to the top of the box office. Jurassic World grossed over $1 billion internationally alone.
