Rudy Giuliani Says Mueller Probe Must Be Suspended 'Tomorrow' After DOJ Report

After leading the email investigation, Strzok became a top official on special counsel Robert Mueller's investigation into whether Trump or his associates colluded with Russian Federation during the 2016 election.

"My advice to him, as long as I'm his lawyer, is not to do it", Giuliani said Sunday, "because you'll just cloud what is becoming now a very clear picture of an extremely unfair investigation with no criminality involved of any kind". But Giuliani said he wants another investigation into the bureau's Russian Federation investigation, which was eventually taken over by Mueller when he was named special counsel.

Giuliani raised the prospect that the president was considering pardons late last week, after former Trump campaign chairman Paul Manafort was jailed for violating terms of his bail in Washington.

Last week Mr Trump declared he thinks the Russian Federation probe is "very biased" and has reservations about being interviewed by special counsel Robert Mueller.

The inspector general, during an 18-month review of the handling of the Hillary Clinton email investigation, unearthed text messages exchanged by the agents in which they disparaged Trump.

Trump has worked outside the traditional pardon process and used his clemency powers in cases where he believed prosecutors may have been motivated by politics.

The former mayor of NY, who is part of the President's legal team in the Russian Federation investigation, was on Staten Island campaigning for Republican Rep. Dan Donovan.

Rudy Giuliani told voters at a campaign rally in NY on Saturday that they have to put an end to the "possibility of a ridiculous impeachment" of President Donald Trump. "I mean, it's happened", Mr. Giuliani replied.

Giuliani spoke on CNN's "State of the Union" and CBS' "Face the Nation", and Bannon appeared on ABC's "This Week".

"I think that we would prefer questions and written answers". "I did nothing wrong, there was no obstruction". What about Comey and Crooked Hillary and all of the others?

Trump has not yet spoken to Mueller as part of the probe, and Giuliani suggested Sunday that he should not do so under oath - pointing to Trump's recent backpedaling on how he characterized his son Donald Trump Jr.'s 2016 meeting with a Russian lawyer as evidence of why it's hard to sort out "a lot of different recollections".

The next day, Giuliani reiterated that the investigation should be suspended but said there should also be an investigation into Mueller's probe.

"I certainly didn't know about it", Giuliani said.

Giuliani, in particular, homed in on an inflammatory text message exchange sent between two Federal Bureau of Investigation officials, counterintelligence agent Peter Strzok and Federal Bureau of Investigation lawyer Lisa Page, which were revealed in a report from the DOJ's internal watchdog last week.

The inspector general's report said it would continue investigating FBI officials who received tickets to sporting games and other things of value from reporters.
