Liverpool set to complete £53m signing of Nabil Fekir from Lyon

Fekir's agent has confirmed Liverpool are interested in signing the Lyon midfielder but also warned a deal was far from done earlier this week.

Liverpool are confident of completing a £55m deal for France star Nabil Fekir in the next 24 hours after Lyon gave the green light to conclude the transfer before the World Cup. The French newspaper are reporting that both sides are now eager for a deal to be done before France fly out to Russian Federation this weekend with a fee of 65 millions Euros the reported price tag.

Should Fekir arrive, it will mark Liverpool's second signing of the season following Brazilian defensive midfielder Fabinho who moved from Monaco for £43.7 million a week ago.

Liverpool want to wrap up the deal as quickly as possible and announce Fekir's arrival over the course of the weekend.

According to the same story, the France worldwide has indicated that he will only move to Liverpool FC in the current transfer window to force Lyon's hand.

"The record is at a standstill, there is no way forward", said Jean-Michel Aulas.

An agreement with Naby Keita of RB Leipzig was struck this time previous year, while Monaco midfielder Fabinho has moved to Anfield as well.

"The whole thing will certainly not be completed during the World Cup, and I don't think anything will change before it".

"Not set a base price because we have not discussed this yet".

The left-footed Frenchman has an eye for goal, scoring 23 times for Lyon last season, and is a threat from set-pieces.
