Melania to skip summits with President Trump

Donald Trump was scheduled to head to Maryland on Friday afternoon, but officials said his wife would not be boarding the presidential helicopter with him. In April, she represented her husband's administration at former first lady Barbara Bush's funeral.

Melania Trump was hospitalized on May 14 - four days after he most recent public appearance - for what was reported to be a routine kidney procedure, which normally sees a patient released on the same day, according to a CNN report. She stayed five days before returning to the White House.

Drawing a parallel between her tweet and POTUS' earlier tweet, social media went on a rollercoaster ride cracking jokes and framing unusual theories about the First Lady's tweet. She participated in public appearances with the spouses of other G7 leaders, including a formal dinner and taking in a performance by La Scala Philharmonic Orchestra at the Ancient Theatre of Taormina.

The White House did not immediately respond to a request for comment from TheWrap.

There has been much speculation about the whereabouts of First Lady Melania Trump, who has not been seen publicly since May 10. However, Trump is apparently doing well, if her latest tweets are to be believed.

"I see the media is working overtime speculating where I am & what I am doing. She's looking at us right there".

But, Huffington Post compared Melania's tweet with previous tweets from the President, and they pointed out that "working overtime" is one of the President's favorite phrases.

Melania Trump won't be accompanying President Trump on his two upcoming foreign trips, the first lady's spokeswoman told ABC News Sunday.

Melania took to Twitter on Wednesday to address claims, reports and conspiracy theories about her absence.

But she remained in the hospital until May 19, with Grisham telling CNN that she was "in high spirits".

On May 30, the first lady attempted to put rumors to rest.
