LeBron James Asked the Cavs Not to Trade Kyrie Irving

Lebron James led his team, Cleveland Cavaliers, to an away victory over Boston Celtics 87-79 at the Eastern Conference playoff on Monday.

"But I just reset my mindset and said "OK, this is the season and let's try to make the most of it".

"I'll be available for at least four more games", James said, "and we'll see what happens". And he would not be denied an eighth straight trip to the NBA Finals.

"I tried to squeeze the orange until there was no more juice", James told reporters after logging 35 points, 15 rebounds and nine assists while playing all 48 minutes of the series finale.

After scoring 46 points in another elimination-game special for the Cavaliers in Cleveland on Friday night, James returns to the scene of his 2012 magic and tries to do it again in Game 7 of the Eastern Conference finals Sunday night.

Yeah, this probably wasn't the best time to have a awful shooting night.

Horford scored 14 points and Tatum had 11 in the first half for the Celtics who up until Sunday had played with more intensity and aggressiveness at home during this postseason. Boston struggled to score down the stretch, and the ice-cold shooting was a big reason why. Given his proximity to the action, the C's legend took it upon himself to say something to LeBron James as the fourth quarter got underway.

ABC gets to reap the rewards of the NBA Finals, which tip off Thursday with the Cavaliers and either the Warriors or Rockets.

James led the Cavaliers in the first half with 17 points and 10 rebounds but they trailed for much of the half in front of a crowd of 18,600 at the Boston Garden. They have one road win in the playoffs but are 10-0 at home, where their crowd and perhaps even the banners that hang high above the parquet have helped. Marcus Morris became a reliable reserve on both ends of the court. The Boston Celtics on the other side of this result are ready to contend for a while. They scored just two points over the next five minutes.

While the Cavs are clearly the underdogs ahead of their fourth final in a row against Golden State, Thomas believes LeBron doesn't have to win another title to prove he's better than Jordan.

That's despite his Cavs team undergoing several roster changes throughout the season and incurring injuries along the way.
