Rage 2 Officially Announced With True Open World FPS Experience

A new trailer for the game was just released, as well, which contain gameplay footage and a brief look into the world of the game.

Bethesda has releases Rage 2's first official gameplay trailer, giving us a glimpse of its insane combat, characters, and open world environment.

But for the record you play as the last Ranger of the wasteland who's looking to "crush the oppressive rule of The Authority once and for all".

Yesterday, Bethesda delivered a bit of a surprise by officially announcing Rage 2. "Rage 2" is now scheduled to hit stores in 2019, and will be available on PC, PS4 and Xbox One. RAGE 2 is a carnival of carnage where you can go anywhere, shoot anything, and explode everything. It's hard to say anything is a guarantee for a game with a 2019 release date.

Bethesda's now confirmed to GameSpot that Rage 2 is a collaboration between Avalanche (of Just Cause fame) and id. Avalanche Studios joined forces with id to craft the game, bringing in its expertise in open world creation to add to the existing FPS mad skills.

Rage 2 is real after all. Right now, we don't have very many details about what this sequel contains. Perhaps a smart move considering the number of massive games out towards the end of the year such as Call of Duty: Black Ops 4 and Red Dead Redemption 2. According to Bethesda, it'll be like diving "headfirst into a dystopian world devoid of society, law, and order". After an asteroid takes out 80% of the earth's population, bloodthirsty gangs prowl the open roads and a tyrannical organization called the Authority rules.

We will play for Walker, the last Ranger of the Badlands, which is a hard path of struggle against oppressive Government.

The trailer below showcases the kind of madness you can expect from the game.
