Donald Glover and 'SNL' Deliver Hilarious Migos-Inspired Friendos' Video

Following his calls to "stay woke!" on his biggest hit to date, Redbone, the musician, actor, writer, director and comedian Childish Gambino - AKA Donald Glover, has doubled his efforts on his new track This Is America. Theories about what it all means have started stacking up.

The debut of "This Is America", coincided with its music video release. One of the lyrics is "Grandma told me: get your money, black man".

Warning: The video contains gun violence and expletives.

The powerful song, a commentary on gun violence in America, is Donald Glover's first single since 2017's Terrified, off his Grammy-nominated 2016 album Awaken, My Love! .

Donald Glover was the episode's host and musical guest (as Childish Gambino), just a few weeks shy of the premiere of "Solo: A Star Wars Story", where Glover plays Lando Calrissian.

Catherine Park, an Associate Digital Producer with 11Alive, writes many other articles on entertainment and social media news. Gambino ties all of these ideas together with school children dancing, recording activity on their cellphones, a Black choir and police chaos.

He then asks you to weigh in on Facebook with your thoughts on his new music video, "This is America".

The video is expertly choreographed and directed sucking you in with a cheerful folk song before deeptoned bass pulses and Gambino's self-aware verses take over.

References to Black Lives Matter, the Charlottesville Unite The Right rally, the Charleston church shooting, as well as police shootings, and terrorism abound.
