Apple iPhone X best selling smartphone globally

A leader in the first quarter of 2018 was the iPhone X. followed by Followed by iPhone 8 iPhone 8 Plus.

According to research by Strategy Analysts, iPhone X is the world's bestselling smartphone in Q1 2018.

"Apple has now shifted nearly 50 million iPhone X units worldwide since commercial launch in November 2017", said Juha Winter, Senior Analyst at Strategy Analytics.

It wasn't the only victor, either.

Apple shipped 5.6 million units of iPhone 7 for fourth place. The iPhone 7 saw 5.6 million units shipped, a fall from its record 21.5 million units in Q1 2017. This was all about the Apple's iPhones, all the latest four iPhones are placed on the top as Apple has shipped the most number of smartphones in the first quarter. Xiaomi, the privately held Chinese start-up that has filed to go public on the Hong Kong exchange, had sales of 5.4 million of its Redmi 5A, and Samsung Electronics' Galaxy S9 Plus, introduced at the end of February, came in at sixth place with 5.3 million. During the same quarter a year ago, the company earned $2.10 EPS.

Apple iPhone quarterly sales have beat Wall Street estimates with the company reporting sales of 52.2 million iPhones against a Wall Street target of 52.3 million. The report does not give clues about how Apple will achieve it and taking into account that this area of the phone includes a speaker, the front camera, an infrared camera, microphone and several sensors, Apple undoubtedly has a great task in hand.

Research firms and analysts were all clamoring that the iPhone X was an expensive failure by new research from Strategy Analytics has shown many different results.

Providing the 2018 iPhone slate is as relatively unexciting as the rumors would lead us to believe, little additions like this could make all the difference for the next wave of consumers.

"We're thrilled to report our best March quarter ever, with strong revenue growth in iPhone, Services and Wearables", said Tim Cook, Apple's CEO. Apple iPhone X is priced at Rs 95,390 for 64GB storage model, while the 128GB storage version costs Rs 1,08,930. Just behind, Apple's primary rival Samsung had a 5.3% share with its Samsung Galaxy S9 Plus.

As per IDC's report, global smartphone shipments reached a total of 334.3 million units in the first quarter of this current year. "We expect the S9 Plus to become the best-selling Android smartphone globally in the second quarter of 2018".

It is a mind-boggling statistic that the top five best selling smartphones were from the same company, Apple.

The phone has shipped an impressive 16 million units already.
