Jimmy Kimmel Mocks Sean Hannity Over Michael Cohen Revelation

Cohen's legal team was ordered to reveal the name to a federal judge in NY after writing in court papers that Cohen performed legal work for three clients between 2017-2018: Donald Trump, Elliot Broidy and an unnamed third client.

Cohen appeared in the Manhattan court to ask a judge to limit the ability of federal prosecutors to review the documents seized from him last week, when federal investigators raided his office and home.

U.S. District Judge Kimba Wood said that she had faith in the Justice Department's so-called "taint team" to isolate materials protected by attorney-client privilege, but added that she would consider allowing a neutral third party requested by Cohen to weigh in.

The attorneys previously said in a filing that Cohen had represented three clients in the past year, including Trump and Elliott Broidy, a Republican fundraiser.

"So, Hannity released a statement today, wanting to clarify his arrangement with Cohen". "One of the anchors at the major pro-Trump news network has had an undisclosed relationship with the president's lawyer all this time, while Fox has not told that to its audience and while Mr. Hannity and Mr. Cohen have apparently spent considerable effort trying to keep that relationship secret". On Monday evening, Hannity downplayed the legal relationship, saying, "Cohen never represented me in any legal matter". "I never paid a legal fee".

Last week's raids came after a "months-long" investigation of possible crimes related largely to Cohen's business dealings, rather than his work as a lawyer, prosecutors have said.

Actor and comedian Jim Carrey continued his attacks on Fox News host Sean Hannity Monday night with a drawing of Hannity as a manatee on Twitter. "My discussions with [my friend Michael who is coincidentally a lawyer] never rose to any level that I needed to tell anyone that I was asking him questions", he said in response to widespread concerns that he committed a grave violation of journalistic ethics by spending a whole week bashing Mueller for witch-hunting his friends Donald and Michael without telling anyone that Michael was his lawyer-friend. "But I think it would have been much, much better had you disclosed that relationship".

A new article from The Washington Post points out similarities between the way Hannity remembers his interaction with attorney Michael Cohen, and how Saul Goodman (Bob Odenkirk) helped out Walter White (Bryan Cranston) and Pinkman (Aaron Paul) back in season two of the AMC drama.

Kimmel also addressed Hannity's assertion that he never discussed anything involving a "third-party" with Cohen.

He said the two men chatted occasionally, and his questions "focused nearly exclusively" on real estate.

"For at least three other clients that we have identified in the period of 2017 to 2018, the work was more direct legal advice or dispute resolution-more traditional legal tasks", the letter read.

Hannity scrambled to respond - first on his radio show, then with tweets, then on his TV show. He said the media was "absolutely apoplectic and hyperventilating".

"Why doesn't @FoxNews have a conflict of interest policy requiring Hannity to disclose his personal interest in the Cohen search when commenting on it?" tweeted Walter Shaub, the former director of the independent Office of Government Ethics.
