James Comey Says President Trump 'Treats Women Like They're Pieces of Meat'

In his prime-time interview with ABC News and in his book, "A Higher Loyalty", the former Federal Bureau of Investigation director unloads on the president as "morally unfit" for office as he plows into a laundry list of political flashpoints from the 2016 election campaign and the early months of the Trump administration.

Markay said that the most dramatic elements of the Comey-Trump saga are not grabbing the headlines because, "most of that has leaked out over the past year or so". Hours before the interview aired, the president, who fired Comey a year ago, unleashed a Twitter outburst that labeled Comey "slippery", suggested he should be put in jail and branded him "the WORST FBI Director in history, by far!"

"Comey drafted the Crooked Hillary exoneration long before he talked to her", Trump tweeted about the email controversy that clouded the 2016 campaign.

Comey's interview with ABC's George Stephanopoulos, a former Democratic Party operative and White House communications director under Bill Clinton, was his second in the span of a week.

In his upcoming memoir "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership", Comey details his interactions with Trump before he was sacked.

Trump has denied he asked Comey to stop investigating Flynn, who pleaded guilty to lying to FBI investigators about his contacts with Russia's ambassador to the United States.Trump has also used Twitter to call Comey a liar and called for his imprisonment.

That almost tripled what ABC had a week before in the time slot. I hope not, because I think impeaching and removing Donald Trump from office would let the American people off the hook and have something happen indirectly that I believe they're duty bound to do directly.

The following day, Trump accused Comey of "committing many crimes" in another tweet.

"A lot of people say you put too many petty personal details in the book about President Trump talking about his hair, hand size, speculation about the tanning goggles", Stephanopolous said.

Democrats will probably go to their graves believing that Comey's re-opening of the email investigation 11 days out cost Clinton the election.

Comey says Trump seemed fixated on an allegation made in a dossier compiled by a former British spy - and funded by Trump's political opponents - involving Russian prostitutes urinating on a bed in a Moscow hotel. "And bad things happen in forest fires", Comey said.

While Comey was warning young lawyers about a precious reservoir of trust and reputation being destroyed, Trump was divorcing wives and walking away from bankrupt casinos, leaving a trail of jobless employees, unpaid vendors and bankers begging to get pennies on the dollars they'd lent. "Not acceptable!" Trump said.

To Comey, Trump is everything a president shouldn't be.

Since then, the two have gone back and forth in the media, culminating recently in the publishing of Comey's tell-all memoir, "A Higher Loyalty: Truth, Lies, and Leadership".

The war of words between Trump and Comey has heated up with the publication of Comey's new book. "He may conclude that there is nothing that touches President Trump or any of his senior people", he said. In a statement to The Associated Press on Sunday, Lynch said she was simply following longstanding Justice Department protocol against confirming or denying the existence of an investigation. I often hear people talk about it.

"I have known James Comey nearly 30 years".
