Oladipo, Pacers Hand LeBron, Cavaliers Game 1 Playoff Defeat

Oladipo, Pacers Hand LeBron, Cavaliers Game 1 Playoff Defeat

They outscored the Pacers in the final three quarters of the game. The Cavs cut the lead to seven with 10:30 remaining in the fourth quarter thanks to some questionable Lance Stephenson decision-making and typically excellent James play, but after a timeout and Victor Oladipo's return to the court, the Pacers finished the contest on a 22-11 run to seal it.

Sunday marked just the second nationally televised game for the Pacers all season, with the other coming when George made his return to IN with the Thunder. IN was edged 44-42 on the boards and clanked 10 of their 25 three point attempts in the contest. "They're gonna come out ready on both ends of the floor, but so are we". It's just that it hasn't been magnified. "So, it's like, it's kind of shocking to everybody". He finished with 32 points, six rebounds, four assists and four steals in the Game 1 win.

Oladipo said Cavaliers owner Dan Gilbert provided him with extra motivation, citing his offseason remark that IN should have received better talent from Oklahoma City IN return for Paul George.

Terry Rozier added 23 points, four rebounds and three assists for Boston in his first career playoff start.

And that's fine! LeBron in the first round of the playoffs has been won of the surest bets in sports; he hadn't lost a game in the opening round since 2o12.

"I'm down 0-1 in the first round", James said. But that doesn't mean we're going to come in here and just fold. "We're planning on winning". The starters will be motivated and will have great games the next time they play the Pacers. "Not just come in here and be OK". And most of what they did worked.

Cavs forward Kyle Korver played just four minutes because of lingering foot soreness.

Hill sustained a bruised back when he was hit from behind on a screen by Indiana's Trevor Booker. Hill only lasted a few minutes in the third quarter.

This is going to be an ugly and long series by the looks of it.

We're so used to seeing LeBron-led teams sweep through the first round that we interpret any deviation as a power shift in the conference.

We will have to wait it see if LeBron James and company can make some magic one more time. "I was down 3-1 in the Finals".

James scored 24 with 12 assists and 10 rebounds for his 20th career triple-double. They were more precise. At the top of the list: the Cavs' have multiple players without any prior playoff experience, and a lot of them looked either scared or hurt.

But James projected confidence looking ahead to Game 2.

Yet the Pacers' roster is full of younger, inexperienced players too. If anything, they realized they can't take the Pacers lightly and have to adjust their mental game. However, coach Nate McMillan said the guard wanted to prove himself and did with hard work.

The Cavaliers had their lowest-scoring first period of the season and only five baskets with six turnovers in the opening quarter, drawing boos as they walked off at half-time trailing 59-38. "We talked about some of the things that Cleveland would do. You're going to have to be clear about what you need to do, and connected out there". "I thought he hurt us catch-and-shoot, off the ball, relaxing, not being aware". That's what the media and those guys say. We know we're a good team and we can stay tight.

"At the end of the day, every good team it comes down to, especially in the playoffs, execution, defense, the details".

Indiana's Victor Oladipo was the standout performer in their National Basketball Association play-off win at Cleveland.
