Pep Guardiola: Manchester City could still blow Premier League title

Manchester City boss Pep Guardiola believes Chelsea and Manchester United were among the Premier League clubs who voted against the introduction of video assistant referee (VAR) from next season onwards.

City have to bounce back when they take on Tottenham at Wembley this evening.

"My feeling now is that United is going to win a lot of points, because they are in good shape, they have top players and they are going to win all six games, so we have to do it". Real Madrid, many years ago, lose six games in a row and didn't win the league.

"When I saw the pundits and the people in November, they say it's already done, it's impossible that City - if they don't lose in six months, three or four months - it's impossible for them to drop points".

Aguero featured in City's last two games against United and Liverpool, coming as a second half substitute.

"All the other contenders, after losing a game, have maybe lost another one - and we didn't do that". We need five points from six games and our first chance is [Saturday] in one of the toughest games.

City always faced an uphill struggle against Liverpool on Tuesday, after all they were 3-0 down from the Champions League first leg, but they weren't helped when the referee wrongly disallowed a second goal for Guardiola's men.

"But it's in our hands, we don't depend on anyone else, and that's a good advantage. Both teams are looking to attack", said Alli. "I think they need to be helped, but if the guys made a decision to do that, it will happen". We have to win two, or one and draw two games. "It is going to be hard for us". I'm sorry, but we're going to do it in that way, and after that we'll see.

Tomorrow they face a team in fine form, Mauricio Pochettino's side are unbeaten in the league since they were mauled 4-1 at the Etihad Stadium in December in the corresponding fixture.

Aguero picked up a knee injury in training last month ahead of the victory at Stoke City, eventually returning to action last weekend with a 14-minute cameo in City's Manchester derby defeat.

"Next season David maybe he will not play every game, that's why the squad has to be big".
