Jericho To Make WWE Return In 'Casket Match' Against Undertaker

This week, Rusev quickly went from having a casket match against The Undertaker at the Greatest Royal Rumble at the King Abdullah Sports City, Jeddah in Saudi Arabia on April 27, to being removed from the match entirely and potentially leaving the company altogether.

In the first Casket Match at the Survivor Series in 1992, Undertaker defeated Kamala and since it has become one of his speciality matches, Hell in the Cell being the other.

According to WWE.com, Rusev was pulled from the casket match after his manager and wife Lana took to Twitter to announce she has swayed WWE to not let the Bulgarian Brute take part in such a match.

Rusev was the man originally scheduled to grapple the legend, but now WWE chiefs have secured free agent Jericho's services. On a recent episode of the Wrestling Observer Live, Bryan Alvarez explained the unusual situation of Rusev's removal from the match.

The only way to win the gruesome match is to stuff your opponent inside the coffin and shut the lid. And if Rusev had won, I could see that finally being the catalyst for WWE to actually give Rusev a long overdue push.

What do you think of Rusev being swapped with Jericho? "Undertaker is kind of a little bit in the past".

"I'm obviously going to crush him".

"So he's got an advantage there but then again, it's Rusev Day, bro". "I'll beat him so bad it may be his last fight".

As of this post, nineteen Superstars have been confirmed for the 50-Man Royal Rumble Match, most notably Daniel Bryan and WWE Hall of Famer Kurt Angle.
