Hargreaves: Bayern are Champions League favourites

Bayern wrapped up a sixth consecutive Bundesliga title with a 4-1 win at Augsburg on Saturday but this was a patient, workmanlike display with scant evidence of the thrills witnessed elsewhere in this week's quarter-finals.

Die Roten are chasing a treble of trophies.

Bayern Munich coach Jupp Heynckes says he hopes Jürgen Klopp's Liverpool side reach the UEFA Champions League last four at the expense of Manchester City, managed by former Bayern supremo Pep Guardiola.

The German manager praised Sevilla's Argentinean midfielder, Ever Banega, saying "Banega is a great player".

However, during that winless run, they did dominate Barcelona before conceding twice late on to draw 2-2, showing once more they are more than capable of matching the continent's biggest teams.

"They will certainly go on the offensive", said Heynckes.

According to Sky Sports, 22-year-old winger Kenedy is being watched closely by a few European giants, despite making minimal first team appearances for the London club so far.

"When he took over, Jupp said that it would be hard to make up the five points - now we have more than 20 on Dortmund", beamed Rummenigge.

Cristiano Ronaldo had single-handedly dismantled the Italian Champions when the two teams met last week in Italy.

"Bayern are the only team left that will play a bit more cautiously, they are perfectly built for knockout football". "Nobody will want to play them and I don't see anyone beating them over two legs".

KTN Home Channel will broadcast the Champions League quarter-final match between Bayern Munich vs Sevilla with coverage starting from 9:45pm tonight.

Hargreaves indicates that their success has been built on a squad cohesion, that the starting XI is exemplary across the board.

Robert Lewandowski was one of six regulars not to start on Saturday. They did very well to win in Manchester [against United] and we know we have to perform at our best.

"They can just a lot anyone in and they will function".
