Dwanye Johnson hails 'great' Black Adam script, hopeful for 2019 production

Just a heads-up for anyone planning on skipping tonight's installment of HQ Trivia, tonight's show is being hosted by Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson to plug his new film Rampage.

Now, Johnson has given us a concrete estimate as to when the Black Adam movie will begin production. Ultimately, what's great about it, when we get together, is that I feel we make each other better.

Off that point, Johnson admitted his biggest hope for Black Adam: that it can both honor the source material and act as a massive win for the DC Extended Universe.

Johnson went on to praise Marvel's cinematic universe and said that DC is still finding their footing and tone, citing Wonder Woman and the upcoming Aquaman as movies that he was excited about. But now a Shazam! movie is happening, and people expected him to be the villain there.

Although DC's Black Adam movie seems to be progressing smoothly behind the scenes with cameras expected to roll in 2019, that doesn't mean comic book fans will have to wait until 2020 (or whenever the movie releases) in order to see Dwayne Johnson's introduction as Teth-Adam in the DCEU.

"Also we have intrinsic DNA tied to a lot of other properties in DC."
We now know that to not be the case, but we wouldn't be surprised to see the villain/anti-hero make his mark on the DCEU ahead of his solo film, even though all signs point to him being kept under wraps until that time! There have been rumours suggesting that Johnson's Black Adam will be debuted in Suicide Squad 2, but that's not so sure now either.

He later tweeted: 'Of all the things my friends hit me up about.I've never been texted more about something than me giving away $300,000 this Wednesday'.
