Crown Prince begins Spanish visit

The Crown Prince will attend a luncheon banquet to be hosted by King Felipe VI at the royal palace in Madrid.

Saudi Crown Prince Mohammed bin Salman, Deputy Prime Minister and Minister of Defense, traveled on Wednesday to Spain on an official visit.

He also said the two sides agreed on the necessity to respond to the chemical attack on the Syrian city of Douma, in addition to the need to "reduce Iran's ballistic activities and expansionism in the region".

The wide-scale and multi-faceted security cooperation, has made counterterrorism a priority to both Saudi Arabia and France, with especial interest in combating terrorism and terrorism funding, and that their close cooperation, in this regard, will expand regional efforts as well as multi-partite endeavors and making them more effective and they will work towards making Paris Conference to combat terrorism funding, set to take place on 25-26 April, a success.

"Our position is that those responsible have to be held accountable and brought to justice", he said.

The Saudi Prince has been the driving force behind changing policies in Saudi Arabia and has met with key players in the technology industry including Google CEO Sundar Pichai, Google founders Larry Page and Sergey Brin, Amazon CEO Jeff Bezos and more.

His remarks came as US President Donald Trump prepared to announce whether he would carry out strikes over Saturday's suspected attack in which at least 40 people are thought to have been killed.

Prince Mohammed, wrapping up his first official visit to France, said during a joint news conference with the French leader that Saudi Arabia would support a military operation in Syria. In total, $9 billion will be invested, the companies said.

"These people should know that by levelling baseless accusations against Iran and harbouring their delusions about the country, they can not close their eyes to this reality that all regional states and nations as well as close observers of the regional and global developments are fully aware of Saudi Arabia's role in creating, sponsoring and arming the terrorist and violent groups like ISIS in the region", he noted.

On Monday, Saudi Arabia and France signed agreements over cultural and artistic co-operation that include training for Saudi filmmakers and plans for the National Opera of Paris to help the Saudis create a national orchestra.
