Amit Shah Mocks Rahul Gandhi For Celebrating BJP's Bypoll Defeats

Prime Minister Narendra Modi lacks guts to face Congress in Parliament, said Rahul Gandhi to up his fight against BJP in poll bound state Karnataka.

Nearly three lakh BJP karyekartas or workers were present from all across Maharashtra at the event with the core team of party's Maharashtra unit including Maharashtra Chief Minister Devendra Fadnavis, State President Raosaheb Danwe, Union Minister Nitin Gadkari, Railway Minister Piyush Goel along with other ministers and MLAs.

Ahead of the elections in 2019, Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) on Friday started its campaign for the upcoming polls in a mega rally organised by its party workers in Mumbai's Bandra-Kurla Complex (BKC). "It's simple", Mr Gandhi said at an informal media interaction in Bengaluru, according to news agency Press Trust of India.

Gandhi said the saffron party chief and BJP-RSS considered that there were only two "non-animals" in the country - Shah and Modi - and that Dalits, tribals, minorities and even his own party leaders "worthless".

Rahul's decision was communicated to all state unit presidents, AICC general secretaries and Congress legislative party leaders in different states through a letter by general secretary Ashok Gehlot.

"In fact, I challenge him to stand with three parties united", he added. "The mood of the people is with the Congress and we will come back to power here", he said. Stating that Mr Modi had a "very good" opportunity after the 2014 election, Mr Gandhi said a lot could have been done for the country.

Addressing the last leg of his Janaashirvaada yatra in KGF, Kolar and Chikkaballapur districts, Rahul said: "Time is running out for Modi and his government".

Alleging that the entire focus of the the country is on GDP, and not job creation, Gandhi said, for this to happen, there has to be a shift in the mindset just as it was done before the Green and Telecom revolutions.

"Forget the BJP and Modi winning in the next elections. We understand, believe and respect what you are".

"Basavanna is an idea, he is the representative of the idea of Karnataka, you can go and stand in front of his statue as much as you want, but it won't work if you are destroying the, it is the mentality." he said.
