Suspect arrested after short pursuit

A suspect was arrested on suspicion of stealing a vehicle early this morning, according to Oakland police.

Police say a woman has been arrested after allegedly shooting at a home in Mid City last month.

Police conducted a search of the auto and discovered a 9 millimeter pistol and what is suspected to be methamphetamine loaded in two syringes.

West Point police responded to a shots fired call around 11 p.m. March 31 at the Texaco store at the intersection of Highway 45 Alternate and Highway 50. Drzewiecki said officers attempted to find the man back at the home but he didn't answer the door.

A team of Detective Branch of police conducted a drive in the area around 2:00am to arrest Ujjal, said district DB officer-in-charge Ashiqur Rahman.
