Kathy Griffin announces shows in New York City, more

Griffin announced her first US shows since the gruesome photo, which showed her holding a bloody mask of President Donald Trump's head, was released in May 2017.

She appeared on HBO's "Real Time" with Bill Maher and announced she has booked several shows at New York City's Carnegie Hall right in "Trump's backyard".

"I'm dipping my toes into touring again even though the Trumps and nobody wants me to work again", Griffin told Maher, then announcing that she booked two comedy shows in the US, her first in the country since the scandal.

Kathy Griffin announced last night on HBO's REAL TIME WITH BILL MAHER that she will be performing at Carnegie Hall and KENNEDY Center soon. Introducing Griffin, Maher told the audience that "she is a good American who loves her country and should be able to work in it".

It looks like Kathy Griffin is trying to make a bit of a comeback, nine months after her controversial photo shoot using a Trump prop.

The comedian said during a press conference previous year that Trump bullied her over the photo, and accused the first family of "personally trying to ruin [her] life forever".

Her close relationship with the CNN anchor, who called the photo "disgusting and completely inappropriate", was also a casualty of the scandal. According to her attorney, Lisa Bloom, she hired a lawyer after she was contacted by the Secret Service.

"I am no longer sorry, the whole outrage was B.S., the whole thing got so blown out of proportion", she said during an interview with Australian talk show "Sunrise" in August. She recounted a vile and violent threat that she said was the most common one she received. "Just kidding! Ten months I waited to do that joke". There were times when they took my devices. They can do that'.

Griffin responded, "I'd do Mike Pence". She appeared on the cover of the Hollywood Reporter recently and discussed the controversy. I didn't rape anybody. I mean, my God, there are celebrities that [expletive] kill people, ' Griffin told the magazine.
