Derrick Rose signs deal with Minnesota Timberwolves

The Timberwolves did not release contract terms, but a person familiar with the situation told The Associated Press the deal is for the remainder of the season.

The Wolves know what they're going to get from Towns every night; they're hoping Wiggins has more to give.

"This is how I feel about it, the whole perspective on it: You could have your perspective on me, as far as I'm a bum, I can't play, I can't shoot, this and that, all right, cool", Rose said, via's Nick Friedell.

"I've been knowing them and been in battle with them for years, so it's comfortable", Rose said after he participated with his new team for the first time at a Thursday morning shoot around. It's why he thinks Butler can help.

"He's been around, he's been in a lot of games". I think he's seen a lot of different things. "So that's a plus".

Rose was traded by the Cavs in February and landed at the Utah Jazz before being waived shortly afterwards.

"It was good besides all the damn turnovers", Rose said. "Just staying ready and coming here and trying to make it to the playoffs, and I feel like I can help in some way".

Rose took some time off earlier this season to evaluate his options.

Miami guard Dwyane Wade, who was teammates with Rose earlier this season in Cleveland, said he expected Rose and Thibodeau would reunite - and insisted the 29-year-old guard still, when healthy, can be elite. "It's always been about health with D-Rose". They're in sixth place in a tight Western Conference race where four games separate the eight teams from third to 10th.

The point guard has been cleared to play against the Golden State Warriors and is likely to see some minutes on the floor as he begins his second stint under head coach Tom Thibodeau.

"Some plays I could have just slowed down and figured things out, but it just shows you that I'm excited to be out there playing", he said. I'm not here for stats or anything like that.

"I tried to prevent myself from falling, I twisted my ankle, but people from the outside, the basketball fans now, they're on Snapchat, they're on Twitter, Instagram, whatever, just looking at highlights, just looking at reports, 'Oh, he injured himself again.' Did you watch the play? No".

Rose only averaged 9.8 points, 1.8 rebounds and 1.6 assists per game in 16 contests with Cleveland this season. So you respect that and I respect that [point of view] and we should be good.
