BlackBerry Ghost to Come Sans Bezel; Runs Android OS

Blackberry has struck a similar deal with the Delhi based Optiemus Infracom in 2017, which holds the rights for India, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, and Nepal.

Mobile industry watcher Evan Blass has leaked an image of a smartphone, supposedly "Blackberry Ghost" in a Tweet, which might be launching in India anytime soon. The company is reported to be working on three smartphones codenamed as Athena, Luna, and Uni.

According to a report by GSMArena, the BlackBerry Ghost will sport a bezel-less design and will be available in a full black colour scheme.

It has been a while since we have seen a new BlackBerry-branded handset.

Beyond this image, there is not much to tell. For the company, things like "channel presence" - meaning, literally, how present its products are in the most direct sales channels to potential customers - are a more important metric than actual sales. Good phones, actually. We loved the KEYone and the BlackBerry Motion. It is rumoured to feature a keyboard-based design and have larger keys than the BlackBerry KEYone. The BlackBerry Luna is expected to be a mid-tier model. The premium Android phone from Optiemus is said to be "coming soon to India".

IDC's Francisco Jeronimo, the same person who brought us word of Essential's appalling sales a year ago, also has a number for shipped BlackBerry devices during 2017. So much so, in fact, that despite the low shipment number for a year ago, Francois Mahieu, the chief commercial officer of BlackBerry Mobile, has declared "mission accomplished" following the launch of its first flagship of the TCL era.

BlackBerry is making a bezel-less phone in India. Little is known about the specification about the BlackBerry "Ghost", so we suggest you stay tuned with us for more details.
