Bollywood actress Sridevi passes away due to heart attack in Dubai

Actress Sridevi, 54, one of the most celebrated actresses of the Hindi film industry has passed away.

Veteran actress Sridevi has died after suffering a cardiac arrest on February 25 in Dubai.

She was in Dubai to attend a family wedding with her husband Boney Kapoor and daughter Khushi. I just landed here, I was in Dubai and now I am flying back to Dubai. "I don't know more details yet", Sanjay confirmed the news to indianexpress.com. Her daughter is set to make her Bollywood debut this year. She had over 275 acting credits to her name including those in regional languages like Tamil, Telugu, Malayalam, and Kannada. Some of her most memorable Bollywood contributions include Mr. India, Nagina, Lamhe, Chaalbaaz, Chandani, English Vinglish and a lot more. Her next film was Himmatwala, which gave her wide recognition.

She was Boney Kapoor's second wife. The two of them married in 1996 and Sridevi took a break from films.

Sridevi had made her Bollywood debut as a child artist with Julie.

Having won the Filmfare Best Actress Awards thrice, Sridevi was also the recipient of Padma Shri, India's fourth highest civilian award.
