Sony could reveal a Samsung Galaxy S9 killer at MWC next week

Sony could reveal a Samsung Galaxy S9 killer at MWC next week

Sony certainly has the prowess to offer plenty more with its specialism in camera modules - it already showed off the super slow-motion camera in its Xperia XZ Premium. Now, we have some new developments.

As the report also states, these two devices will be priced lower than the Galaxy S9 and the Galaxy S9+. Now, some new information regarding the specs and pricing have emerged that give us a better idea of what we can expect at the event.

Apart from the Samsung Galaxy S9, we're curious about the next offering from Sony.

The Xperia XZ2 should arrive with a 5.8-inch 18:9 display, although the resolution hasn't been revealed. The image, obtained by Xperia Blog from one of its commenters, shows an alleged XZ2 Compact prototype ... The display will get the Gorilla Glass 5 protection as well. These specifications are quite likely, but mentioned top-end Qualcomm processor 845 is clearly out of place: either the source is wrong, or we are facing a very unusual flagman dimensions slightly larger iPhone SE for the price of full-sized models from Samsung and Xiaomi. It is rumored to include a native storage of 64 GB. It is said to feature mostly same specs as of Xperia XZ2.

Interestingly, the report mentions that the Xperia XZ2 will use a vibration motor for playing music and audio, but it's unclear how it'll work in practice.

Unfortunately, the exclusion of headphone jacks from both the Xperia XZ2 and XZ2 Compact is gaining credence, along with the far better news of a shared ultra-high-end Snapdragon 845 processor.

The Sony Xperia XZ2 Compact may bear a price tag of 5,990 SEK, a sum roughly around Rs. 47, 940.
