Karate Kid Is Making A Triumphant Return To Our Screens

In the clip, Daniel can be heard telling Johnny, "I just don't know why you would ever want to bring back Cobra Kai". Meeting in old familiar settings and in the middle of the matt Daniel boldly says to "Johnny, you and I, this... we aren't done". In the first footage from the upcoming "Cobra Kai" series on YouTube, Red, Danny (Ralph Macchio) and Johnny (William Zabka) face off once again. Hurwitz & Schlossberg will direct much of the series.

Cobra Kai will debut later this year on YouTube Red.

The almost fifty-second video offers the first look at "The Karate Kid" sequel series which is set 30 years after the 1984 All Valley Karate Tournament.

At this time there is really not a lot of information being released about the "Cobra Kai" series. That doesn't sit well with Daniel, who has since been leading a picture-perfect life as a family man and successful auto dealer. The return of Cobra Kai awakens old feelings in both of them, feelings that are most likely escalated by Daniel's daughter dating a bully named Kyler - who is much like Johnny used to be - and Johnny trying to teach a student being bullied by Kyler, mirroring Daniel. Looking for a way to regain his objective and mojo, Johnny then decides to reopen the old dojo.

Courtney Henggeler is Amanda, "Daniel's wife and business partner...the glue that keeps the LaRusso household and dealership running, and a calming force in Daniel's life".

Ed Asner will guest star as Johnny's stepfather, Sid Weinberg.

The reboot of the "Karate Kid" franchise starred Jackie Chan, Jaden Smith and Taraji P. Henson.

The show will air 10 half-hour episodes written by "Hot Tub Time Machine" scribe Josh Heald and "Harold & Kumar" writers Jon Hurwitz and Hayden Schlossberg.
