Putin Says North Korean Leader Is 'Shrewd, Mature Politician'

"I believe, Mr. Kim Jong-un has certainly won this round", said Putin to journalists according to Reuters. "I'm a very flexible person", Trump added.

"I think the premise of your question is completely ridiculous and shows the lack of knowledge that you have on this process", Sanders retorted, adding that the president's tweet "wasn't confusing to me".

"I'm not saying I have or haven't", Trump said.

The Trump administration is debating a "bloody nose" attack on North Korea, recent reports say, with the president's inner circle split and apparently teetering between endorsing a strike and holding out hope for diplomacy.

In an interview with the Wall Street Journal, Trump said he may be open to diplomatic meetings with North Korea after months of trading insults and threats over its nuclear weapons program. In short, the situation with North Korea--and Trump's bombastic approach to it--has led to a boom in business for Jones.

North Korea will send a team down to PyeongChang, North Korean athletes and officials will preen before the world's media, and the biggest stories from the Games will not be who wins what but which North Koreans are shaking hands with which South Koreans, how honest their smiles are and exactly what they are murmuring to one another.

Trump said on Twitter on Tuesday.

Trump told the newspaper a decision by the United States and South Korea to postpone military exercises until after next month's Winter Olympics in South Korea "sends a good message to North Korea".

Rising tensions between the United States and North Korea, which conducted its largest nuclear test in September and fired off a powerful ICBM in late November, have raised concerns worldwide.

"The president has made very clear that were going to do everything we can to do that in a way that doesn't involve military action", Pompeo said, "but has equally made clear that we're not going to stand for allowing Kim Jong Un to hold Los Angeles, or Denver, or NY at risk".

Earlier this week North Korean and South Korea engaged in public diplomatic meetings for the first time in nearly two years after Kim had suggested he was interested in sending athletes to the Winter Olympics in South Korea in February.
