Assassin's Creed Origins gets free quest as Trials of the Gods begins

"Assassin's Creed: Origins", despite being a stealth action game primarily, has some of the heaviest RPG elements in the history of the franchise, and it would do well to have a New Game+ mode. That begins this month when a free update and the first DLC expansion will be released alongside the return of a limited-time event on PC, PS4, and Xbox One. It sees Bayek leading his group of Assassins into battle against Romans who are occupying a region in Egypt.

The owners of the game will receive a new quest.

Players will be going into a vast new story, with new gear, and a level cap increase up to Level 45.

The game's daily free Heka chest will soon be able to reward items from the latest paid-for cosmetic DLC sets, too - that's the the Nightmare, First Civilisation, Gladiator and Wacky packs.

Trials of the Gods launches today, and Ubisoft brings news of nice little surprise for players that will launch alongside the new Assassin's Creed Origins The Hidden Ones DLC this month. "We are now investigating the possibility of implementing this option in a future title update", said Ubisoft. There's a also a couple of game updates. The in-game Store and Ubisoft Club will also be updated with the Almighty Pack on 16th January and a new For Honor Pack and Warden's Oath Outfit on 30th January.

Ubisoft is yet to announce an official release date, but its expected that players will be able to re-enter the vibrant, lived-in environments of ancient Egypt by the end of January.
