Texas reporter vanishes after telling friend she was being followed

A Texas sports reporter is missing and there are fears something bad happened.

The family have since filed a missing persons report with Houston police.

Roland will be taken to an area hospital for evaluation, police said. Police found Roland's phone in the vehicle and her purse was found at a nearby business, according to authorities.

Update 9:36 a.m. January 8: Police said they found Texas A&M University football reporter Courtney Roland on Monday morning after she was reported missing over the weekend in Houston.

The roommate said Roland and her was supposed to meet up, but the roommate didn't hear from her again.

Roland's mother said she received a message hours later that read, "hello the owner of this phone Courtney. I am purchasing an iPad".

Houston police say sports reporter Courtney Roland was in a "state of confusion" when they located her under a Houston overpass Monday morning. The address where she was found was not provided by police. She was seen as late as just before midnight Sunday at a Walgreens.

Her roommate told the station that Roland had texted her at around 12.30am on Sunday about a "suspicious man" she saw in Walgreens.

Her Jeep later was found with her phone and other personal items inside.

"If somebody has her, we just want to tell them we love you too".

She is a reporter for Rivals covering the Texas A&M program.
